-overclock
-buy better hardware
-buy nvidia. phyx support will offload the "CPU" test onto the graphic card, which will significant boost the score
i wouldn't bother with 3dmark and other "synthetic" benchmarks. they often have no bearing on actual performance.

3Dmark06 factors the cpu in the score heavily. The main way you'll see significant boosts in you score is either by having a faster cpu or an equally fast cpu with more cores. Video overclocks can help slightly but cpu changes 3dmark06's results more.

Phsyx Doesn't apply to 3dmark06. Vantage is the one that benefits from it iirc.

i wouldn't know, since i've never worked with either. however, the CPU test does sound like something that will greatly benefit from physX though. if i recall, the CPU test in 3dmark06 is a bunch of airplanes flying around in a canyon, which is definitely something physX can handle.

If I recall my score on 3dmark 06 was nearly 3x yours with a 4850 and just 2GB of RAM. The main difference was my Phenom 9850 quad core... so the 4 cores on the CPU apparently did greatly factor into the end equation. I also have XP on that machine and some overkill cooling system. lol
